As we reflect on the work we have accomplished together, we are filled with gratitude for your generous support, your belief in our mission, and the stronger, more resilient local food system we are building here in Butte County.

Thanks to Big Harvest Donors like you, we’ve made major strides this year:

  • Over 60,000 pounds of locally grown produce has been distributed to Indian tribe families Everhart Village, and the Butte County Community School.

  • Seven new gardens started in schools and neighborhoods along with a Veterans Community Garden

  • Expanded education programs that empower people of all ages to grow their own food and eat nutritiously

  • Support for small-scale farmers through our Market Mobile program

But as you know, the harvest doesn’t grow by itself. It takes all of us.

Today, we’re inviting you to renew your support with a donation to our Big Harvest Campaign. Your gift will directly fund:

  • More seeds, soil, and tools for community  and school gardens

  • Fresh produce deliveries to underserved areas

  • Education workshops on sustainable growing and healthy cooking

  • Support for our volunteer and gleaning programs that keep food from going to waste

Will you help us continue to nourish Butte County—one seed, one meal, one neighbor at a time?

Your past generosity has made a real difference. If you’re able, we hope you will consider making a donation of $100, $1,000, or any amount that feels meaningful to you.

During The Big Harvest, every contribution received before December 31st, 2025 will receive an additional cash match. Please send your tax-deductible donation today!

Checks should be made payable to: “The Big Harvest/Butte County Local Food Network” and mailed to The Big Harvest in the pre-addressed envelope provided. You may also donate online at www.thebigharvest.org/donate.

If you'd like to speak with us directly about how your donation can have the greatest impact, we’d be happy to connect contact@bclocalfood.org. Together, we are growing more than food—we are cultivating a healthier, more connected, and food-secure Butte County.

With heartfelt thanks,

Butte County Local Food Network - Board of Directors

How to Join Us Our Community

You will notice art on various pages on the website.  This was made possible by a generous grant from the California Arts Council, Nevada County Arts Council. Upstate Creative Corps and Upstate Creative Corps Butte County.

This grant allowed us to commission local artists to create posters, murals, logos and signs for our Free The Food Stands and for garden art in Community Gardens around the county.  The only direction we gave the artists was to create art in the style of the Victory Garden Art of the last century but updated for their style.

We loved what they came up with to inspire us all to grow more food beautifully.
