Events, Community, Local Food Hooray!

Greetings, Local Foodie Friends:

Enjoying the heat? It isn’t stopping us and others from getting out in community at local food events to celebrate our amazing community! Just bring that squirt bottle and our new found friend, a wet sarong to put over your shoulders and you’ll feel like you are in air conditioning (well, at least for a half hour or so).

If you didn’t read our last email from June 25 with the subject line: Local Food Town Crier Edition, you might want to read or revisit it as a reference on the food system situation (it’s imploding).

In response to what’s coming, a number of us have come up with a campaign that not only addresses it by supporting us all to grow more food, but creates more community by putting the neighbor back into neighborhoods. It’s called 1000 Acres More. Curious? You can find out more about it here and, even better, you can come to a talk Pamm Larry is giving in Chico on July 31, in Paradise on August 7 and in Oroville on August 20. We’ll spend a short time on the situation so you aren’t in the dark, then quickly pivot to connecting, collaborating and creating.
